At Legion Dog Training, we built a reputation for providing high-quality, results-driven training that emphasised discipline, structure, and the strength of the dog-owner relationship. However, as our business evolved and our training methods expanded to include more specialised services, we felt it was important to select a name that more accurately reflected our growth, values, and the exceptional level of expertise we offer.
We decided to change our name to Imperator Dog Training, drawing inspiration from Roman history. In the Roman Empire, the term Legion referred to highly skilled, disciplined groups of soldiers who were united in purpose. While the name Legion embodied strength and teamwork, we felt that Imperator, which refers to the title held by a Roman commander who had supreme authority and was responsible for victory and leadership, more accurately captures our vision for the business moving forward.
From Legion to Imperator: The Difference
- Legion: In Roman times, a Legion was a military unit consisting of disciplined soldiers, trained to work in unison to achieve a specific goal. The term conveyed strength, discipline, and unity. This concept aligned with our initial focus on providing solid, structured training to create well-disciplined dogs.
- Imperator: The title Imperator was given to the highest-ranking Roman commanders—those who led armies and made crucial decisions. It symbolised authority, leadership, and mastery over a wide array of challenges. By adopting the name Imperator, we aim to reflect our commitment to mastering the art of dog training at the highest level, offering expertise in everything from basic obedience to specialised training for working dogs, reactive dogs, and even scent detection. The name also conveys our approach to dog training as one of strong leadership, empowerment, and achieving excellence.
